  • First – Why Facebook Ads To Grow Your Bowen Therapy Practice??

 

Great question.

 

One of the frustrating things about digital marketing (even as somebody who works in the industry), is how many marketing platforms exist out there. 

 

There’s at least 10 major ones that everyone talks about, as well as hundreds of lesser known sites and platforms you can use to promote your business. 

 

Frankly, it can feel overwhelming. With so many options – how are you supposed to know which is best for your business? 

 

My personal recommendation if you’re just starting out your foray into marketing is to use Facebook Ads to grow your Bowen Therapy Practice. 

 

Why?

 

Because Facebook Ads are not only the simplest and most user friendly to get started with, they will also be some of the cheapest ad dollars you’ll ever spend. 

 

For the record I am writing this in May 2021, and ad platforms and ad pricing can change quickly. So it is always best to look up fresh data when available. 

 

However, as of this moment right now, Facebook Ads will be some of the best invested dollars you spend in your advertising plan. This is not a knock on other platforms, they all have their use in the overall strategy. 

 

Seriously, where a single click on Google might cost $4-6, I’ve helped business owners get $2-4 leads on Facebook. Considering how 1 in 5 clicks might turn into a lead, this means Facebook is roughly 10x cheaper than Google Ads as a lead gen tool. 

 

But my last reason for recommending Facebook Ads to promote your Bowen Therapy Practice is the sheer simplicity of it. 

 

In fact, when you run a lead generation campaign (more on that below), you’re able to collect leads and grow your business, without even needing a website or landing page. 

 

That’s how quick and easy it is to get up and running – Facebook ads remove many of the barriers that stop most business owners and bowen practitioners from even starting. 

 

  • The 7 Things Most Bowen Practitioners Do Wrong With Their Facebook Ads

 

I need to be real here for a minute. Despite the ease of use and user-friendliness of Facebook Ads, there are some common mistakes that I see over and over again with Bowen Practitioners when it comes to running their Facebook Ads. 

 

The good news is that these are generally simple fixes. 

 

Heed these words of warning, and your Bowen Therapy Facebook Ads will be much, much more successful in generating new clients and new business for your Bowen Practice. 

 

  • Sending Users To Your Home Page

 

Straight up this is sin #1 that I see over and over again. 

 

The standard thinking goes something like this: “all I need to be successful in marketing is to setup an ad campaign, send users to my website, and from there they will just figure out what to do”. 

 

I hate to break it to you, but this isn’t the early 2000’s anymore. 

 

There used to be a time when users online had patience and would take the time to explore your website, read everything you had to say, and be patient enough to understand your offer. 

 

Those days are long gone. 

 

Since 2015 mobile traffic has been on the rise and since 2017 mobile traffic has actually surpassed desktop traffic for total internet traffic. 

 

This means that the majority of people are now on mobile phones – meaning they’re looking at your website on tiny screens, they’re likely on the go, trying to catch their next bus, and they have absolutely zero patience to try to navigate your website or to understand what is going on. 

 

Zip. Zero. Zilch. 

 

Which means that sending users to your homepage and expecting them to just ‘figure it out’, means that they won’t figure it out, and actually they’re just going to bounce. Goodbye!

 

Your better options are to either run a Lead Gen campaign through Facebook (more on that below), or to send users to a dedicated landing page where there is one clear action (CTA) for them to take. 

 

Remember: keep it simple 🙂 

 

  • Not Collecting Emails

 

This is definitely Sin #2. 

 

Look I get it, platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and TikTok are great and wonderful and nothing could ever go wrong, right? 

 

Wrongo. 

 

While I do love all of those platforms (and more), the danger of relying too heavily on them is that your account can effectively get shut down at any time for violating policies, whether you realised it not. 

 

Oopsie!

 

Having all of your clients and prospects emails saved in a customer database, means that your business is protected. 

 

Nobody can take away your email list. That is an asset that you straight up own, 100%. 

 

Setup Mailchimp and start collecting those emails. 

 

  • Non-specific Targeting

 

When most beginners get into the Facebook Ad Platform, they’re (rightfully so) no the most experienced and sometimes make some beginner mistakes. 

 

One of those mistakes that keeps recurring is setting up non-specific ad targeting. 

 

Facebook provides some exceptionally powerful tools to target your ads, however, it is common for beginners to leave targeting options like geography, demographics and interests blank, meaning that Facebook is essentially going out to millions of people trying to find the right ones. 

 

By setting detailed targeting, Facebook will know exactly who to target (more on targeting below). 

 

  • Don’t Leverage The Facebook Pixel

 

Admittedly, the Facebook Pixel is a more advanced technique, however I can’t stress enough hoe important it is. 

 

Now granted, if you are just starting out your first Facebook Ad Campaigns, it is not essential to have your Facebook Pixel installed (more on that below), however as you get more serious with your campaigns, it does become 100% necessary. 

 

Therefore it is recommended to get your Facebook Pixel installed as soon as you possibly can. 

 

  • Boosting Posts

 

A typical beginner mistake is to boost Facebook posts. 

 

Boosted posts are done directly through the Facebook Business Page. 

 

However, I recommend that you run all ad campaigns through the Facebook Business Manager starting immediately. 

 

The business manager gives you much greater range of control over how exactly your Facebook Ad Campaign is setup and more detailed options when it comes to setting targeting (as we discussed above). 

 

Boosting posts is effectively just flushing your dollars down the toilet. 

 

I recommend you stop boosting posts immediately and move over to the Business Manager. Trust me, you won’t regret it. 

 

  • No Compelling Offer

 

This is one of those things that can take some time to properly develop. However, one of the key mistakes that Bowen Therapy Practitioners make is to not have a compelling offer. 

 

Look I get it, you didn’t get into Bowen because you loved sales and marketing. 

 

However, just telling the world that you ‘practice bowen’, won’t generally be enough to compel them to take action. 

 

It is important to put yourself in your client’s shoes. 

 

They’re busy. In fact, they’re extremely busy, and they don’t have time to figure stuff out. 

 

If you show them an ad, and they’re either confused or not feeling strongly compelled to take action, then your ad has effectively been a waste. 

 

Remember, until someone actually walks into your clinic, you don’t have a business, you just have a dream. 

 

The sole purpose of your ads is to give your clients a compelling enough reason to take action and walk into your clinic. 

 

Take some time, think of what kind of compelling offer would incentivise your clients to take action and come see you. 

 

  • Don’t Spend Enough Money

 

The last point here, and this may be the most subjective, but one of the common problems I see with Bowen Therapy Facebook Ads is that Bowen practitioners don’t spend enough money on their ads. 

 

Now, stay calm, let’s work through this. 

 

First, let me be clear, if you’re currently running an ad campaign that is not profitable for you, then I’m not saying that you should just dump more money into, let’s be smart about this. 

 

However, the common problem that I see is that Bowen practitioners tend to just dip their toe in the water. 

 

They spend a few dollars, don’t see a massive success then pull out. 

 

In fact, this video by Lindsay Anderson outlines how most business owners get super nervous when it comes to their ad spend and growing their businesses:

 

 

However, keep in mind, that even the best designed ad campaigns take time to be optimized. 

 

It takes time to figure out which photos, which copy, which headlines and which offers are the most compelling to your audience and what they respond best to. 

 

If you’re currently spending less than $20/day, then you’re not taking Facebook Ads seriously yet. 

 

Let’s get your campaigns up and running and successful, then let’s grow from $20/day to $30/day and eventually $50/day. 

 

$50/day is when you’re getting serious about your Facebook marketing and you’re now on the path to successfully growing your practice. 

 

My goal here is simply to set some benchmarks and to guide you on how to pull it off successfully. 

 

With all that said, let’s get into the details of what you should be doing!

 

  • Your Unique Bowen Voice

 

Never forget how unique you are. 

 

You got into Bowen for a reason. Not many people start practicing Bowen, which immediately makes you unique from 99.9% of all the world’s population. 

 

You have a unique way of looking at the world, unique values and unique beliefs. 

 

No one else has taken the journey you’ve taken or has the life experience you have. 

 

So why does this all matter? 

 

Because, you’re not some faceless corporation, like a Wal-Mart or a McDonalds – you’re you, and the reason that clients will come and buy from you, is entirely because of your uniqueness. 

 

It’s the way you speak, the values you have, the way you dress and style yourself, the way you sometimes fumble over your words, or the way you feel conviction about certain issues. 

 

Those are the elements that make you human and distinct from anyone else. 

 

Take some time to tap into those emotions.

 

Ask yourself: What do you value? What are you fighting for? What do you want to change in the world? What do you believe in? What makes you different from others? What can you offer the world? Why do you get up in the morning? What do you want your legacy to be?

 

By tapping into these deeper emotions, you’ll better be able to share your uniqueness with the world. 

 

Trust me, the world is waiting for you to show up.

  • Finding Your Audience (That Love You!)

 

The reason that most Bowen Practitioners don’t start marketing and advertising is because they fear that there is a cold world out there – that there’s a lot of busy people who have zero interest in them. 

 

But I need to tell you, that is shockingly not true. 

 

There are huge groups and communities out there, who believe exactly the same things you do. 

 

There are communities that believe fiercely in alternative medicines and holistic therapies – these are your die-hard fans. 

 

What I’m trying to say, is that there are already significant communities out there that already love and respect you.

 

Your job is simply to present your unique self (as we discussed above) and tap into your communities. 

 

You’ll be shocked to find the warm reception you get when you get your message in front of the right people. 

 

They are just waiting for you. 

 

Likely too, if you live in a city of 1 Million plus, there are already significant communities locally that believe what you believe. 

 

Good advertising isn’t about disturbing people and shoving your jingle down their throats. Good advertising is simply connecting your message with those who already want to hear it. 

 

Start your marketing campaign and connect with your audience today. 

 

  • Setting Up Your Account

 

Now we get into some of the nitty gritty technical details. 

 

Obviously before we can get into running a campaign, we need to setup the Facebook Business Manager. 

 

Essentially the Business Manager is your tool to setup and run your Facebook Campaigns.
